HELP! 3112A Raid controller wont boot?

Just loaded up a single raptor on a 3112A Raid PCI controller. I got it to detect during the windows load but am unable to get it to boot off the device. I set the boot device order after the reboot to SCSI First and its not booting off the card/drive. Am I missing something? This is on an EPOX 8K3A+. Thanks for any help!
 
Does the SATA controller have to be in a certain PCI slot for it to be able to boot off of?
 
I should have put a note this isnt a software issue... it doesnt even attempt to boot off the sata controller it just goes to the next boot device inline. Anyone???
