Im looking mostly just to play like WoW and Counter-Strike:Source not really BIG gaming..

I live in canada so i cannot use Newegg i can use Ncix.com / Tigerdirect.ca

Thanks

or save for DX10

i personally am going to get an 8800gts soon. i will recommend not saving, buy what you can afford now. the 8800s are expensive, and most people don't have one.

your best bet will be the x1950pro which can be found for $200 and is currently the best bang-per-buck at that price point. Your other option would be the 7900GS which is a bit cheaper.

<edit> Canada oops oh well just get a 7600GT or 7900GS

if ur machine cant run CSS and WOW now, go out and spend $50 on a cheapo second hand Radeon 9550 or something and continue saving for an 8800GTS/X

Used 7900GT is your sweet spot. You can find them for prices between 150~180 shipped.

I just sold three for $150 shipped each. You should watch my thread if I get anymore :D

Just get a EVGA 7900GS and OC it to 7900GT levels, that is what I did on my older PC. Also with EVGA comes the stepup program so you can still save enough money for your 8900GTX or 8950GX2 or what have you. Point is that EVGA will give all the money that you spent on the GC at the time of purchase and you just pay the remainder. ATi does the same thing but only gives you 50% back, EVGA gives you 100% of the purchase price back.

however though it isn't my money, it's your's. It's your call. We're just steering you in the right direction.
