I have a Western Digital 20GB and a Samsung 4.38GB
The 20 is about 6 or 7 years old
The Samsung is I dont know pretty old
I tried them begining both master but 1 will show
then I tried Master slave
Then the cable select nothing is working.

Can some one help me please.

Master-Master on the same cable NEVER works. With IDE one has to be set as Master, one as Slave if they're on the same cable.

Set each drive to master and connect only 1 drive at a time and see if they both show up. If one does but the other doesn't, bad drive, simple as that.

If they do show up, connect them up with seperate cables. IE place whichever is your OS drive on the Primary cable, unplug your CD/DVD drives and plug in the other drive. Then power up the system and see if both pick up. If they do, then set one as a slave and connect it up to the same cable as the other drive.

You may have to go into the motherboard BIOS and tell it to autodetect the Primary Master, Primary Slave, Secondary Master and Secondary Slave drives. Not all motherboard BIOSes do this by default.

I tried and it seems they both show up I then put the 20GB as slave and then they dont show. Then I tried the 4GB as slave then it didnt show.

I then tried it with out the 4GB and the 20GB show then I tried the 20GB and a Raptor so in Bios they show then I tried those and installed OS on Raptor now 20GB doesnt show.
I have a Asus SLI Deluxe mobo

Didnt a company make a IDE to SATA so then I just put it on a Sata port.

Master in the middle, slave at the end. Make sure you have jumpered and cabled your drives properly. Older drives are really sensitive to this.
