Hello guys I really want to get into water cooling for the quiet operation and cool factor. I want to start out just cooling the CPU(Athlon XP 2200+). I like the Aqua Computer stuff because it has style and I got two free 5.25 bays in my Antec SX 1030 for the Aquabay. The issue I have is where to put the rad in. I think I can stick a 12cm unit under the hard drive bay. My budget is about $300. Can anyone lend me some suggestions? :confused:
 
Well if you have a 120mm front intake then you should be able to mount a 120mm rad underneath the cage if you get creative. Turn it sideways maybe :) I think I had a 120mm rad in a chieftec case once and I was able to get it underneath the cage somehow.

The antec SX 1030 has room for only a 8cm fan in the front of the case, however, it looks big enough to fit a 12cm fan/rad if I remove the second cage.
 
Can any please give any suggestions? Is Aqua Computer right for me? Will I be able to fit a 12cm rad in my Antec SX 1030? Help! Thanks.
 
I had a similar case a few yrs ago, and if you remove the bottom hd cage a 120mm rad will fit just fine. I also cut out the mesh in front of the 80mm fan for more air.

Getting AC gear is strictly up to you. If you can afford the $300 then go for it. But there's also alot of other solutions that are much cheaper, and also allow upgrades if you choose a high flow setup. There's plenty of people here that can inform you on aqua computer parts, and the various other brands available.

A 120mm rad will fit someplace in just about any modern case in existence. Whether AC is for you depends on what you want really and whether you have the moula to effect what you want to do. However, you will be quite happy with an AC setup. I run across a lot of people who make the switch from American to German watercooling setups, but rarely find those who switch the other way.

Ok I've been looking at the local reseller for Aqua Computer, Sharka Computers (which is like an hour drive away from my house! :D ), and I couldn't find the Airplex Evo 120 :( . I am guessing it is out of stock. Since I am gonna be using all Aqua Computer equipment, what is a good replacement 12cm rad?
 
Nurse is probably the best person to ask Aqua questions to, but she doesn't reply to pm's :(

I just ordered an Innovatek XXS w/c kit off of someone on the forums. It has everything for "newbies." I haven't tried it out, but I know its quality, and I'd reccomment it for you. However, I know someone on Ebay is selling countless Aqua Comp blocks with 3/8 fittings instead of the german 1/4.

If you want to get into an easy w/c and need a case. I'd reccommend a Koolance case. A friend of mine is selling one for 160 shipped that retails for like 290 on Xoxide.Click here for that case

thermochill PA160 rad if you can fit it, thermochill PA120.1 if you can't fit the other. if you want something cheaper, black ice pro single fan rad. given the budget that you are working with.......thermochill would be a good bet, but sharka doesn't sell them.

you can thread whatever fitting you want into any one of those rads. the thermochill rads are some of the best out there. probably THE best out there. that assessment includes the rads that A-C uses.

That's fine. I was going to order some Panaflo's off Jab Tech which has the thermochill rad.... and for $90... it better be the best Rad out there! :p
