Hellgate London!!!

I can appreciate enthusiasm, but "most of your summer" will probably end up being more like "five to six hours of your summer".

i'll be getting hellgate london most likely, but i'm SOOOOOOOOOOOO ready for diablo 3.

diablo 2 lord of destruction fucking killed me i got so addicted!! im nvr going near another diablo game again!! fuck DIABLO2 LOD...

yeh helgate london looks kwl :p

Damn, I forgot all about the Diablo craze. That shit was insane. I read up on Hellgate last week, definately looks like good times.

this game is going to be insane! random maps on the fly so each time you play its going to be different. the item set is supposed to be even larger and more unique than diablo 2. reading about this game doesnt do it justice at all.. download the e3 gameplay video. its the best game thats going to come out for awhile i bet. i cant think of anything thats going to match it.

Too bad just about every member that worked on Diablo left... The biggest guys are the ones working on Hellgate London. Blizzard effed up. Hellgate london cant be D3 because of obvious reasons im sure their going to add snippets of things that'll remind us of Diablo

for all those people who are eager for diablo 3, don't hold your breath. Blizzard as a company is not being run the way it should be. That big fallout with Bill Roper and et al really hurt their resources. Blizzard condensed the whole "Blizzard North" team and moved them down to their other offices or fired them.

Diablo 3, if it exists, or if it ever comes, will never have the quality that D2 had.
Now, look forward to Hellgate: London.

It's really the new Diablo 3, they just couldn't name it that.

hm i dont want to start a new thread so iguess ill ask here, will this game have a monthly fee  i really hope not!

Flagship Studios first baby on the scene, should be very good. Personally the concept of a RPG/FPS is sort of cool and I wonder how it will pan out. The theme of the game looks great, but they need to finish it up and get it out.

Unreal 3 engine based games are on the horizon (360), and once they hit ... nothing will be equal in graphical quality for some time. I really hope Flagship gets this out by summer but I doubt it.

I'm looking forward to Project Offset about 100000000x more then any game in history.

Most likely a 99% no. This isn't an MMO at all. Its a RPG game, done so in FPS action. Imagine Diablo in first person view, with guns and stuff. Post appololyptic Knights fighting demons etc... looks very good.

For the record MMO or games that require a fee, do so because they cost so much money to operate. Paying for my first MMO actually saved me about $300 a month. Instead of wasting cash while out at night, a simple $15 a month kept me in saving me HUNDREDS... lol. Truth.

gollly .... I didn't think it would. it's not a MMORPG,.... at least, I don't think the world is always in existence. I hope it's like Diablo 2 where you have your accounts to log in and make a new game, etc.

from a preview on gamespot:
GS: What can you tell us about your plans for multiplayer? Will multiplayer be mainly focused on individual server-based (or direct-IP-based) co-op play? Any plans for competitive modes?

ES: Hellgate: London will support many modes of single-player and online play. Most importantly, we will be providing a destination where players can congregate in large or small numbers within the world. Here, they will be able to group up for adventures, trade items, or just hang out and chat. Plans for competitive modes are just being discussed now, but our main emphasis will be on supporting cooperative adventuring.

Of course, this is just from a preview, and details change continuously.

Sounds just like what Guild Wars did, which was originally what Diablos waiting rooms were like. There will probably be cities you can enter, that appear MMOish (like Guild Wars), but in reality once you leave that city, you're in your own instance.

This is why Guild Wars is NOT an MMO either. It sounds like Hellgate is going to be instanced also which allows for cheap server maintence and probably no monthly fees.
