height adjustment question

i just got the 204bw and i am not sure how this height adjustment thing works. i pull out the pin on the back adjusted to my desired height and reinserted the pin, the pin does not lock when inserted and i am still able to slide the screen up and down. can anyone tell me how this works
 
pin is for shipping purposes only (did you bother to read the tag that came ON the pin)?
 
i didn't have any tag on the string. i think thats why i did't know. i did have the tag string but the actual tag was probably ripped off. i will go try to finid it
 
Actually, I don't think my pin said anything about not putting the pin back in. I guess they figured it was common sense.
 
so the pin is only used for preventing the lcd from sliding up and down when shipping correct?
