I ordered this HEC 585W with split 12V 19/20a for $22 TWO months ago knowing that it couldn't really be a true 585W with hefty 12V split rails for only $22 just out of curiosity. It sold out right before my order went through but my order was still processed and charged. Customer service actually called me twice asking me if I wanted a refund since they could not locate anymore of these units (and didn't know if they could ever get more at that price) but luckily I was patient enough to wait for it to come in stock. It's finally going to arrive next Tuesday, but unfortunately I don't have the means to test it's quality considering it's the cheapest 24-pin dual 12V PSU I've ever seen and made by a halfway decent OEM manufacturer.

If Directron is actually going to stock large amounts of these for $22, it would probably be worth the effort for me to send this to someone with the equipment to properly test it. Even if it performed 30% below spec, that would still be pretty good considering the price

I wouldnt trust it too far
what when you factor in some labor, a small profit margin and shipping, doesnt leave alot for quality components regardless of the design, and its likely not that great a design
probably very dirty and with a specific "sweet spot" it doesnt like to be outside of

I have that model PSU, I bought it as a backup unit only when my main unit needed a fan replacement.

The rails through software reading were all above spec a tad. 3.3v @ 3.36, like that, i don't remembere the exact numbers, but it was a stable unit and a quiet one at that.
