Heatsinks for my P4 EE

il vouch for the sp-94 w/ a 92mm tornado. id use a vantec fan controller with the tornado. it IS pretty loud. :D

I've been thinking about that one too. The Aerocool looks pretty good because it has that mounting for a fan on the side to blow over it.

Does anyone have an Aerocool?

the sp-97 will perform alot better. Especially if you want to overclock.

Isn't the Sp-97 for a AMD chip?
The sp-94 is for socket 478

I kinda figured that one out myself. Socket 478 for my Intel, not Socket A.

dont you guys know you can just epoxy amd sinks to your p4s, and they run alot better, because amd chips run hotter, just like everyone thinks [/sarcasm]

# Supper attractive "Round" shape cooler

that's from the xoxide site. i'd go with thermalright, personally. or watercooling (which is what i am doing soon)

yeah, yeah... brain fart... been looking at amd stuff.

THE SP-94 IS BETTER THAN THE DEEP IMPACT.

OK?

The SP-94 is an excellent heatsink. Remember, heatpipe efficiency depends on how the board is placed.

ive not used or even seen either heatsink up close, but i really dont think the guy at bjorn3d.com (Ryan Kerschner) did a proper test of the Aerocool at all. he didnt use two fans in mirrored positions like he even said was spec, and he didnt use the same pos stock AMD fan on the reference heatsink either (Volcano 11), he used one of the Aerocool's fans. pft.

this review at Viperlair shows the results of six different fan configurations on the Aerocool, with a Swifttech 462-V as reference (using the same Aerocool fan [gj]). the Aerocool wins btw.

Maybe someone here can do a test vs. a couple Thermalright sinks.

btw, that Aerocool looks exactly like an ancient 5MB hd! i think those things were the size of refrigerators though.

Heh, thanks for the comment.

But I'm probably gonna get the Thermalright. Than fan it.

Are there fan mounts on the heatsink itself? Or does it cool from the current inside the case?
