I got a new system a while back.

gigabyte 7nnxp
barton 2500+

anyway I bought the thermalright sp97 and when I went to go put it on I noticed the motherboard doesn't have any mounting holes. So instead I justed used the one that came with the cpu. I was wondering which heatsink I should get. I don't want anything too loud I got to sleep at night. I was thinking about geting the swiftech mcx562-v but im not sure if it fits.

The thing is with those ThermalRight heatsinks is you gotta check that compatibility chart before you go buying their stuff :). Sorry you couldn't use your SP97--I hear it's supposed to be very good.

Anyway, if the Swifttech heatsink will allow a 92mm fan, I believe a big favorite is the mid speed Panaflo fan. I'm using one right now, and to me, it's not very loud at all. This noise may be too much for some, but I personally don't find it very bothersome.

Also, unless the Swifttech has those mounting clips on for AMD CPU's, you should see if there are compatibility charts on their website as well before you go out spending your money :). Hope this helps.

I'd like to know the answer to this as well, I have the same mobo but would like to upgrade my heatsink.
