Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
just take any retention mechanism that's holding the heatsink then pull it...dont twist it....so you wont bend any pins....it's better to have the cpu stock at the bottom of the heatsink with the pins in a good shape rather than bent ones.......
Run your computer for a while before trying to remove the HSF to warm up the thermal compound. A surprising number of people complain of removing the HSF and having the CPU pull out of the socket with it. Then just unclip the HSF from the socket and (as henesseynaler said) gently work the HSF off. You may want to apply several layers of masking tape on your mobo under the clip on your HSF if you need to use a screwdriver to persuade the clip off the lugs on the socket. It only take one good slip with the screwdriver, and you're replacing your mobo too.
