I've been having temperature problems with my 2500+ at 200x11 with 1.7vcore and SLK900A. When i first got the heatsink a few months ago, CPU temps were about 39 idle 47 full load. After moving some stuff around, temps went up to 45-50 idle and over 60 under load. I changed cases, lapped the heatsink, and tried again. This returned the CPU to its original temps, just about, but after once again moving some stuff around, my temps are up again. This time no matter what I do to try to alleviate the heat temps stay very high. I lapped the heatsink a few hours ago thinking it might have somehow been uneven, but it hasn't helped at all. What could be causing this? My room is always under 70 degrees and the case temp stays around 30. I wouldn't worry about the temperature, but i can't even play games at these temps and my pride prevents me from lowering the overclock :p What should i do to try to solve this incredibly irritating problem?
 
Whats the airflow in your case like? IE fans in, out, power supply, etc etc. Post pics if you got some.
 
right now its in a case w/o any fans. just a 92mm enermax on the heatsink. I'm in the middle of modding the case that its normally in which has 2 80mm intakes in the back, 1 80mm exhaust in the front, and a 120mm blowhole. The wires are pretty clean, so i don't think airflow is the problem.
 
Your case has no airflow almost right now ofcourse your temps will be high. Personally if you need to keep it in this case till the other is done take the side off and put a fan blowing on it, or run it at default speeds.

Your other option is if it is stable to just leave it as is, you shouldn't have any problems if it is stable, just get that other case done so that you have some airflow.

A case with no airflow will not keep the cpu cool at all.
 
I should have mentioned that the case that its in now has no sides on it and is sitting as close as i can get it to an open window. I only started modding the case to try to fix the temp problems to begin with. The temps wouldn't be a problem at all if it was stable, but i can't play anything for more than 20 minutes without issues. I wouldn't go through all this trouble to try and fix it if i hadn't had good temps before. I'm going to screw around for a while and see what i can come up with. Thanks for the help :)
