hi, i am thinking about upgrading to one of those Thermalright SLK all copper heatsinks for my socket A barton 2500+. Well it doesn't come with a fan and i was wondering if this is just a case type fan that can go on here or what, because i know the heatsink supports 80mm fans but what type of RPMs are minimum or airflow requirements? i plan on have it overclocked pretty high... so will like one of those medium speed Panaflo's do the job or is there a special type of heatsink fan....

Delta 80 x 80 NOT THE QUIETEST FAN (sorry for yelling)
But sure do move da air:eek:

anything that moves at least 25 CFM would be adequate.

of course you want to find the biggest, most powerful fan you can fit on your heatsink that will be within your noise tolerance. id say the average 'whirring' case fan would sound out around 30 dBA.

so, general advice is to get at least an SLK-900 (one that holds a 92mm fan) and find a 92mm fan that will move at least 40 CFM at around 30 or 35 dBA. you should be satisfied.

thanks a lot people!

err, looking at the picture of the Panaflo 92mm fan on newegg shows it with the two wires that connect to the mobo stripped and without a connector, what do i do about that and why would someone sell a fan like that...

i guess thats just how Panasonic manufactures them. youll need one "tailed" (with a connector added). try http://www.directron.com if youre buying fans.

(heh thats the fourth time in three days ive dropped their addy.)
