I currently have an asus and an amd 2600+ chip watercooling [i plan on upgrading within the next few months]. I want to get out of the w/c area because it was cool 2 years ago when i first did it, now its boring. During the summer days here in Florida, my room gets to be as hot as 85-90F. There are a total of 5 case fans in the system, but only two are running right now to blow out any heat generated by the cpu and mother board / other components. I want to cool the cpu with air, keeping in mind that the temp in here does reach 90 during the day. But I dont want to hear the fans. Any ideas, suggestions or solutions?
 
Yeah, I hear my friends store computers they buy from dell or hp. theyre quiet. I wouldnt sy im bored with it. Just, everyone has it now.. its not unique or anything. Plus its a pain when I want to move my comp to lan games or anything like that.

Thermalright XP-90C Looks damn sweet, and performs like a champ. Mate it with a nice panaflo or other low noise 92mm fan, and you'll have great cooling with very little noise.

The picture doesn't really do it justice... it's massive, and looks amazing. A friend of mine said it looks like one of those turbo scoops sticking out of the hood of a tricked out sports car.

I second this...


I think the Thermalright XP-90C is probably your best bet. I live in Florida too so know exactly where your coming from.

Recommand Thermalright XP-120 + 120 mm SilenX fan.

Its VERY quiet while it has good airflow due to a larger fan.

Here's a link for the poster in case he wants to compair the two. Personally I like the XP-90C since it smaller so less chance of having motherboard issues and does just about the exact same as the XP-120

For the previous four posters, the XP-90 and XP-120 series heatsinks will not fit on the Socket A model lineup! The SI-97 may be his best choice.

That's true... I'll be honest and admit I missed that. However, he also said he was upgrading... so maybe he was asking about HSFs for his upgraded system?
