I've been away for computers for some time now. I've decided to upgrade up CPU to an Athlon XP 2800+. I want to know if my Thermalright SK-6 is still capable of cooling my new cpu. I know oem coolers are usually oem, but it's been a while so I don't know how good the current oem hs are. Are there any other suggestions for a heatsink if my sk6 needs to be replaced? I'd like to be able to use my current heatsink while my new heat sink is in the mail, or is this a bad move? thanks in advance.

EDIT: forgot to mention that i don't plan to overclock it
 
the SK6 is pretty dated, but it's still a decent performer. you might try installing an 80mm fan on it, just turn the fan about 45 degrees from the normal mounting position and clip it in. check your temps, if they're much past 50c, you should probably look into a different HSF.

i'd check out the SLK800/900, they should work just fine. ya might even be able to pick up a used one for a good price.
