i have overheatin prob with my pc thanks to gay aopen case. :(
my ambient is betw 20-30C. problem is when its 25C+ things starts to heat up.
and at worst case (i.e. 30C ambient, playin games) it some times overheats at stock. (starts to slow down, hang or error, etc)

problem is the aopen hq45 case, which has no fan (except the one in psu n useless one at front bottom, i tried but didnt help).
if i run with side of the case open, it doesn't overheat anymore.
i have cleared all the cables, bought zalman for both cpu and gpu but it still overheats with case shut. :(

should i get new case(antec superlanboy) or new cpu/mb (intel p4)?

Mod that HQ45. Make an exhaut hole on top. Make an intake hole in front. Your done. :) I had that case and that waht I did.
Now my little bro made it is lan box. You dont see the exhaust hole on top but thats a shot of the 120mm intake in front.

make a blowhole at the top
at least a 90mm if not 120mm and get a good high cfm fan up in there

30c ambient isn't too hot? You shouldn't run into problems with any less than 55+c

i was thinkin of placin a fan at the back or on the side panel but i've never done it b4, i dont think it would be too easy. (front of hq45 is too curvy to cut holes) i think that case on pic is hx45, i had that case b4 hq45 but no more aopen after this.

30C ambient(room) temperature is hot, if the cpu is overclocked it would start overheatin at 25C ambient. when cpu temp get over 60C it starts to slow down, hang, etc.

i'll probably get super lanboy, i just hope it would fix the overheatin problem completely.

just wonderin if intel p4 would also overheat on aopen hq45 or do they run much cooler than athlon cpu?

Hes speaking of case temp, not cpu. 55c is 131f. If you are using 130f air to blow onto your heatsink to cool your cpu, youve got problems. 30c (86c) is a bit on the high side for case temp. As the first guy who responded more or less stated, put some more fans in that case. Thats the only way you are gonna get cooler air into the system. That'll mean lower cpu and gpu temps, which is good.

Donut, I think you have confused ambient temp with idle cpu temp.

yeah this fuked up aopen case has been giving me trouble all these times.. :(
i bought extra fans, then more fans, 3 diff cpu hsf, gpu hsf, etc.

i cant believe they still sell this pos. WORST CASE EVER. (unless u dont o/c at all n u live someplace really cold)

i guess the only way to fix the problem is to cut large holes on cases to place fans.. but im not willin to do that. not cos i love the case but cos its fukin hassel n i dont have the tools or time.

im gonna buy Antec Super Lanboy tomorrow, this case can probably run the cpu much cooler even with the stock hsf.
