My head is spinning from all the options. I was thinking about getting a pair of A40's but now I'm wondering if their really worth the dough. I use to pick up $40 - $50 pairs of Plantronics but I just don't feel confident anymore with their quality.

My most recent pairs seem to fail at the inline volume though I rarely use the darn thing. Like the pair I have now, I have to constantly slap around the inline volume to make both ears work lol.

Any suggestions for something quality, good bass and comfortable for extended periods of wear? $50 - $150 budget.

I would get a decent pair of stereo headphones and get a modmic or laptec 7330. I wouldn't recommend any headset outside of a PC360 from Sennheiser. The alternatives are going to sound much better at each price point.
