I use teamspeak and ventrilo when I play games, and thats fine, but I play some games at work in my office. Now the problem is that I often have people entering my office, and an open speaker / mic setup is just not acceptable.
So, clearly, to be more discrete, I need a headset.
But I absolutely do not want a gamers headset, since my office is also glass, and I dont need to look like a moron with a headset.

What would be perfect is one of those wireless blue tooth mic/speaker that you see in use with cellphones or blackberries.

Problem is, Im using a slightly older laptop, and it doesn't have blue tooth. Can anyone suggest a solution?

LOL

How do you get away with playing games at work? :p Unless you're in that industry of course

Concierge, so out of an 8 hour day, I usually have 5-6 hours to sink into navy field.
Im highly visible, but no one can tell Im playing. A full on gaming headset would ruin that.

The little wireless ear piece mics would be great, since Im not tethered to my desk and its small enough to go unnoticed....

bump

ok, Ill narrow down my question

Will a motorola bluetooth headset, like the ones people use with Razar phones or blackberries, work with a computer?

Now, I dont have bluetooth on my laptop, but I suspect that a bluetooth USB adaptor will allow me to use a cellphone headset with a program such as teamspeak, ventrilo etc.
Can anyone confirm this....not maby, just a solid yes or no.

search 'wireless headset' on newegg. u want an office type headset that plugs into a pc

I've looked pretty extensively into this and it's really a pretty simple thing to do, apparently. The key is that your bluetooth receiver has to use software put out by a company called "Widcomm"--the only other software that the receivers use is from Microsoft, and the Microsoft software has this functionality disabled. Unfortunately, it's really hard to tell which software your receiver was developed for until you install it, and there's no way to get one made for the Microsoft software to work with the Widcomm software. :( However, once you ensure you have the correct software, it's just as simple as pairing things up and you're good to go.

I have one of these, and can confirm it uses the Widcomm stack. So...pretty much any Bluetooth headset will play with it just fine.

Thanks guys.
Im gonna grab an Asus dongle and a plantronics headset. Ill let you guys know how it all turns out.

I've played around with this before. The sound quality is pretty low but it actually works just fine.
