Hey Guys,

Right i Have a BFG 6800 Ultra Oc, whats the Best Way to OC this card?? programs?? HELP!

Im running 66.93 drivers :) System in Sig

Ive neva OC'd fook all b4! but im guessing all OCing is reversible?? and would a Warrenty type person be able to tell if i had Oc'd the Card in the past??

Riva Tuner or the Nvidia display properties pannel will tell you temps. 57C for an Ultra OC sounds pretty good. It shouldn't go much above 75C when under full load if your case is well cooled and ambient temps are around 70F
 
i Have two exhaust fans, one side fan, the CPU fan the Ultra's fan and 3 fans on the PSU.. all 80mm!! :p unless the GPU and th CPU ones are smaller... canna tell! :D

i have been told i should be getting higher Benchmarks than im getting... on 3dmark03 i hit 12523.. and on 3dmark05 i hit 5263...

Are these about right... payed alot of money for this setup... (no idea how to build) and the the last thing i want is it to run shitty! :)
 
The "low" benchmarks which are actually insanely high are probably due to driver settings rather than hardware. Maybe you don't have your BIOS setup properly either. My 9800 pro, the state of the art of last generation gets 5400 in 3dmark03 probably nothing in 05. My 6800nu gets about 9250 in 03. So your benchmarks are good LOL.

Make sure to disable fastwrites in the low level settings in rivatuner, save it, and make sure it applies at startup.

Turn AA, AF, and VSYNC OFF for benchmarking.

Make sure your AGP Aperture Size in the BIOS is at 128MB.

Don't have ANY applications running in the background when you benchmark.

Im listed 81st on this site for 3dmark05 scores thats outta 250ish... :)

and i think my main Mind Blur is that most people on here have already OC'd and im still stock!! once that clicks in my head ill realise it aint a bad system :)

Where do i check the AGP apeture?? in the CPU bios?? Hitting DEL on the boot screen ??

The agp aperature size can be checked in the motherboar bios.. usually by hitting Delete at the POST screen. There are a few bios changes that can be made to help improve performance. Just do some searches on bios changes for video performance and im sure you will come up with something. As far as overclockin goes I used coolbits 2.0 off of guru3d.com website and have had very good luck with that. Its also very easy to use. Also your BFG Ultra OC comes somewhat overclocked already.
 
Since you have an ultra thats oced out of the box you might want to be careful when ocing further and make sure you don't get any artifacting or overheating.
 
yeah might just play with settings and not up the Speeds... ill check the AGP apature... and i'll Bench the card again on 03 and 05 and ill post scores here :)

Ok played around a bit with things and ended up getting a Rather LARGE increase!

:D my score on 05 went up to 5982!!! im Happy :D (all sceptics can see a pin in this link Clicky Me )

how much did u overclock :) :confused: and that is on 66.93 drivers too!!! change the drivers to 71.20 and ur score will be way over 6000 mark..... and agian. how much did u get ur card too??!!???!!??!

This was last nite, i was shocked at the score (pleased/shocked) i got this score on this setup on the GPU (dunno how else to write this info so ifsomeone would show me how everyone else write it quiker :))
Core Clock Freq = 475Mhz
Memory Clock Freq = 1.19Ghz
Drivers = Nivida BETA 67.02

Where can i get the 71.02 drivers??? are the safe enuf to use???

for the 5982 score i just Defragged, spyware scanned, msconfig'd background programs, unplugged the net and cleared out a heap of crap from the pc

It all helps lol

will these Gain on the 67.02 Beta's i have on at present ??
