Headphone extension cables.

I wanted to know if headphone extension cables cause any degredation in sound over a certain length. I've become accustomed to using my Sennhieser 280 cans to watch dvd's except the cable isn't long enough to stretch over a distance without tugging at the headphones. Would getting a cable extension cause any negative effects to the sound quality? I also plan on buying a cmoy amp just for the hell of it to see what it does, any sort of conflicts there?

That totally comes down to whether or not you believe one piece of copper can be different from another piece of copper. I've been in Home Audio for many years and I've finally come to <my own> realization that it just doesn't matter. Unless the cable physically has a problem, small signals won't matter. Now I may be wrong, however it sure makes life alot less frustrating

I bought a 20' 1/8" extension from a Radio Shack (Tandy) outlet for like $5. It certainly wouldn't hurt to try, and the it would be very convienent.

I used to think that. Then I got my PE headphone extension cable to hook inot my receiver while I worked out. There is a noticeable loss of quality when the extension is plugged in. Generally, it's not enough to worry about. You don't have to go crazy.
