I just bought a pair of headphones and everything works great except the sound seams to be reversed, the left sound out of the right and the right out of the left, is there any way to fix this.

Note: My headphones are in the right position.

No, I'm going to try a complete reformat and see if that fixes the problem as I have been having a few other problems and a lot of junk has accumulated on my PC.

what soundcard are you using? you might have accidentally switched a setting in the drivers or the windows setup to flip the audio

I am using the Nvidia's Nforce 2 Intergrated sound, I don't know why it happens with headphones as my other computer works fine with them.

Oh well, no turning back now, I'm going to reformat... If I still hav'nt solved the problem, I'll come back in a few hours...

i had that problem

it was because i used the case's front lineout port. it somehow switched it.

so if you are doing the same or using some sort of cable extension, try using without

Is it only reversed when you plug them directly into the computer? If so, then you know it's a problem with your computer, in which case there's probably some setting to reverse the sound. If it happens when plugged into the headphone port of a pair of speakers, it could be a problem with the speakers (I've seen that happen before). If it happens no matter what you plug the headphones into (CD Player, Computer, whatever), then you know it's a problem with the headphones and there's little you can do besides wear them backwards.

I've got that problem with my headphones too. it's only on the front port audio though. the back is fine, I haven't opened it up to see if i can reverse the plugin to the mobo, or if it's an internal wiring problem with the case/mobo.

Well, I'm finally got everything up and running smoothly again, and my computer is running good, but silly me was just wearing my headphones on the wrong side, but besides that everythings fine now.

but silly me was just wearing my headphones on the wrong side

Thank you, that made my day.
I only have one question.....who do I send the cleaning bill for my monitor to?

rolling on floor laughing my ass off.
