No idea but for the $$ it will do better than a X-Fi headphone out. Depends on what cable you use to connect it though. A cheap ass radioshack cable will sound pretty muffled in my experience. Spend at least as much on the cable and it should sound decent with most headphones.

The PAV2's volume pot has too much distortion.
Get a Fiio 5, the next big thing for cheap, good amps!
Really though, a mini3 or headroom total airhead should be the minimum for an amp.
