I'm in some dire need for help. Anyone that can help me with the following problem.......gets a cookie!
System specs:
Display:
Sony KDL-V40XBR1
System:
Soltek K8T890
Athlon 64 4000+ @ 2.4ghz
1gb Corsair Value Select
1 36gb Raptor
1 300gb Seagate 7200.8
eVGA 7800 GTX (running 91.31 drivers)
Ok, now to the problem. The system above is running as an HTPC (all spare parts) and is connected to my Sony LCD. I have the HDTV Dongle connected to my 7800 GTX running via Component output to my Sony. All is well, as the nvidia drivers detect my display as an HDTV and I get a picture and everything. First thing I noticed is the resolution. My Sony has a resolution of 1366x768 yet nVidia forces 1216x684. When I try to create a custom resolution (1366x768) it will display it, but it does not fit the screen. It cuts about a half an inch from all 4 sides. However, at 1216x684 the view is perfect. Next thing I noticed was when I tried to play a video in WMP 11 my screen constantly flickers (not even in fullscreen). I have to minimize WMP for it to stop. Even if the video is paused it will still flicker uncontrollabley.
Secondly, I tried an HDMI to DVI cable. This also was detected by the nVidia control panel but no matter what resolution it was forced to view at, it would also have about half an inch cut from all 4 sides. This is after forcing 720p or 1080i. However, I did not have the flickering problem as the Components.
I'm completely stumped as to how to fix it. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated! Much thanks for your responses.
