HDTV resolution prob

hi, I'm new. . .(like you havent heard that one before)

anyway, I just hooked up my Toshiba 46" HDTV up to my puter useing a DVI cable. Ive got a Gainward GF4 Ti 4200 running 66.81 drivers incase you need to know that. anyway, after alot of hair pulling and threats from a Ruger .44 mag I finaly got everything working. Now my problem is the screen resolution is all jacked and I cant get it to work properly. my TV is VERY finicky about the resolutions you set it to, it works at 800x600, but the only portion of the screen that is seen is the very middle, cropping off easily 3/4 of the rest. the other res it works at is 1280x720 while still cropping off the top and the bottom while the width is right. I have played with other numbers, but for some reason those are the only two resolutions that work.

the picture is fine and clear, but the problem is the usable screen area is croped out. it is there since the mouse dissapears off the top and bottom of the screen.

TIA

Drew

edit. . .any other resolution and the screen is blank
