I ordered a BFG 6600gt AGP from chumbo.com and I did not receive the cable I was supposed to receive for HDTV-out, infact I recived no cable what so ever. This leaves me with no TV-Out and I am wondering if it is possible to buy that particular cable elsewhere on the internet, quick google searches and ebay searches come up dry. Any help is greatly appreciated.

The cable in question is the bottom one in this image:

ebay has tons of them, i still havent gotten around to getting component cables for my vid card to my hdtv. Once i do though, my tv is my new monitor

on a side note my evga 6600gt pci-e came with the cable in question for free...

The HDTV output is via the DVI port........ Most current HDTV sets accept DVI or VGA so you should be good to go.

What you need is a DVI to Component cable, which does not come with most cards.

I highly doubt that. If your TV isn't good enough to have DVI on even 15 Pin connector then it wont be high enough quality to run as a monitor (good for games, but nothing with text)..

Well, that particular cable goes through the far left in this picture (not my actual card, mine has two DVI outs). I'll look into the the DVI to component cables though.

Not always. Some 6600GTs (my buddy's MSI comes to mind) have a component RGB out on the VIVO Port - It's a 7 pin DIN connector that resembles an S-Video port, 4 pins for VIVO and 3 pins for HDTV. DVI I'm sure will work better, but component straight out of the card then through a dongle is out in the wild.

Yes but remember you are trying to make a S-VIDEO type connection HDTV, which sounds to me like inferior image quality. The way ATI and Nvidia are marketing HDTV is via the DVI port. That is why their drivers have many options around the HDTV configuration.

Some 6600 cards don't come with the Component out cable and BFG is one of them, you should have gotten an Svideo cable though. Sent them an email about it and I'm sure that they'll send you one.

Um, no. Analog component video is YPbPr: 3 signals with ground returns (6 pins max) and is also used for HDTV. ATI includes the same type of component cable with the X800XL and other video cards now. I have one. Of course you can use DVI for HDTV if your TV has that input, but most people don't. The old ATI VGA to HDTV adapter worked the same way... analog component out for HDTV.

And the retail BFG 6600GT OC comes standard with the cable shown in the first post. http://www.bfgtech.com/6600GT.html "HDTV / Video-Out Cable". Chumbo and Dumb Dude aren't being clear if the card is OEM or retail.

Which 6600GT would be the best "Bang for the $$" if I wanted to do some gaming on my HDTV big screen? Mine TV doesn't have anything but the component video imputs BTW. Would any of the 6600GT's on Newegg that list it as having HDTV output work?
