HDTV $99

It's basically against the law to charge you for an item that hasn't shipped yet so, those people seeing charges already on their credit/debit statements... that shit ain't right, it really ain't.

Unless of course they process the order and ship inside the warehouse meaning it's processed out with a packaging label and everything then slapped with a shipping label as well for FedEx/UPS/whoever.

Still wrong of 'em to charge anyone until that process is complete and the product has left the warehouse...

Meh.... I have a credit card with a $3500 limit. It's at $500 right now. I'm not too worried.

I haven't been charged though.

It might not be right, but they've done it before and I'm sure it will continue. Usually if a deal's too good to be true, it is. But with reputable vendors, it really can't hurt much to try with pricing mistakes. They'll hold your money for a bit, then give it right back to you in full. As long as you can afford it, I don't see the harm in trying. Hell, I was in for two immediately with overnight shipping just for shits and giggles. I don't think there's a real problem until there's actual theft of cash involved. If the price is a factor that you consider to be significant then it's probably not worth your time. Until then, let us optimists have our fun = )

Damn lmao 42 pages. They're more insane then us here at [H].

well, I also meant that they RUIN everything by taking advantage of errors or abusing freebies. Some douche on there claimed he got 100 of those free quiznos coupons. I hate that.

I understand how some people jump on these. Every once in a while you get the item. If you're using a credit card with credit to spare, there's really no harm no foul if you don't succeed. For me however, the time it takes, the mental wait, the feeling you get when it doesn't go through isn't worth it. I've been there enough times to know which way the deal is LIKELY to go.

Funny, how mad some people seem to be mad that people order these. Saying they will complain, blah blah. I ordered 4 and if they don't go through, oh well it was exciting for a few hours.

Take a chill pill lol.

I order 2 earlier. I have about 6 friends on this as well.

Hope it works. If not, worse is just getting our money back.

Agreed. I've made my parents and a few friends jealous by telling them about it :p Also confirmed that I would have NO problem unloading both of these TV's for more than I paid, if I felt the need to do so...

Just saw this, but it looks like the page is gone now. Good luck, I was hoping to buy 3 of them for that price.

I just got an email saying my order was cancels due to it being out of stock. I guess I got in to late.

even worse is all the people that come into a thread like this and post the typical ^^^^^^^^

you can't blame people for trying, you can blame people for retaliating when the deal doesn't get honored

Well if it doesn't go through no harm, but I suspect this is an actual calculated maneuver by Dell. How many "bargin hunters" jump on this deal, only to get canceled on??? Then Dell says, hey we made a mistake here's a coupon for another one of our products. Now now the "bargin hunter" has a coupon to use at Dell to get a bargin on something else.

Dell usually doesn't give you anything but a cancellation notice in your Paypal account. Hell last time I don't think I even for a cancellation email much less any coupon.

None of theses have shipped yet?

Please do NOT reply If you are one of the douchebags that said they ordered 10 and they already were delivered or any other BS.

So as far as holding them accountable, its against their T&C, so you can bitch at them, you just cant sue them, if you're into that stuff. (lawsuits are too much trouble for this kind of money anyway)

I can't believe I missed this!!!

I wonder what the story is behind it.

Don't be too annoyed. The chances of any of us actually getting televisions is very slim.

If I do get this TV...Sell or keep...

Know whats funny? places always have disclaimers, and even then... they still get sued and sometimes they even lose. So even though they have a disclaimer it doesn't necessarily mean they're free from lawsuit.

I'm for sure keeping mine if i get it (next day shipping)

There's not gonna be an upgrade in this model that has any meaning for another 3-4 years...

O hai haxor lol

Yeah, but my dad speaks lawyer-nese, and he took a look at the extensive Online store T&C, and he said its pretty solid, without violating consumer rights. If anything, Dell will just back down and give you your money back promptly.

Advertisement/online pricing is considered an invitation to make an offer. In no way are they contracts so there is no responsibility for a merchant to honor pricing mistakes. In some cases, if the loss is not great or its an individual customer, they will honor the price out of good will. There is no need to even have a disclaimer, its just there to forewarn the consumer.

Had one person ordered(a repeat customer) and then threw a stink over a cancellation, they may let one go for $100. However, that won't be the case in this situation.

The Web page is unavailable. Exactly what kind of HDTV was it that Dell mistakenly sold for $99?

CC still shows pending charge. No cancel email yet, however my est delivery date went from 3/6/09 to Est. Delivery Date: 1/1/0001.
Didn't expect this to go through anyways.
