HDR and FSAA

With a NVidia you can't do HDR and FSAA. Is this a driver problem or a hardware thing? I'm asking because I'm building a new rig and getting either a 7900 GT or a ATI X1900XT. In the future I'd like to go SLI/Crossfire and was wondering if Nvidia could enable the option to do both HDR and FSAA at the same time or if I wanted to do HDR and FSAA would I have to upgrade to a next gen card.
 
It's a hardware issue. The stage at which the GeForce applies FSAA is the same as the stage that crunches HDR.
 
depends, the HDR used in HL2 you can, but with the type used in Oblivion, SS2, Far Cry, and some others in the near future you'd need the X1k series
