So with my new D311, I figured I would dabble in the super trendy world of HDR. SO here are my first few attempts. Any advice?

Also, is it better to use the raw files or jpgs? I have my camera set to take both at once, so I have that option.
Also, for reference, I'm using photoshop CS5.1 to do the merge.

The pictures of yours look realistic, and if you hadn't said anything I'd have just thought you did some nice processing on them. I consider this to be a good thing.

I have not used the HDR functions in CS5.1.

There is significantly more information in Raw files vs JPGs. So use raw if the CS5.1 HDR function will let you.

I'd say only shoot in raw because taking both uses more space on your card. They do look real and not bad. I've seen many hdr that make it look so unrealistic. Yours are good.
