Hi, I'm trying to conmnect my computer to my monitor via a HDMI cable. It is currently setup vis the RGB (i.e. VGA) port.
Here are my specs: Windows Vista x64 Home Premium, DFI X38 DK-T2R, Asus 8800GT 512, Intel Q6600 G0, Corsair 620HX, WD Raptor 160GB, Samsung optical drive.
My windows is fully updated, according to GPU-Z I'm using the most update bios for the graphics card (although this version is not up on the Asus website), and I'm using ForceWare drivers 175.19.
Futhermore I'm using a HDMI cable that is 1.3a, and a DVI-D -> HDMI adapter. The monitor is a LG 22LS4R whcih has a HDMI input (max resolution: 1600 x 1050). I have read the manual and it does indeed state instructions of connecting to a computer via HDMI, so I do believe it is supported by the monitor.
Problem: I can see the everything from the POST to the green rolling bars of windows starting up. However after that the monitor states that no signal is produced.
Could the problem be I have a DVI-D -> HDMI adapter, and not one of the other variants (i.e. DVI-A, DVI-I etc)? Thanks for your help.
