HI

Returning home from boarding school i often bring back lots of movies and tv shows etc back on my laptop. When im at home i connect the laptop to the TV with a hdmi cable and all works well. However i am wondering can i buy an external harddrive, with a hdmi port that i can leave permantly next to the TV. So i can copy movies from laptop to this harddrive and dont need laptop to play movies. Is this possible.

IS this what i am talking about.

The movies are all xvid avi files. would these be able to be played.
please respond
cheers.

The critical thing is to make sure that the processor in the "hard-drive" will be able to handle the resolution that you want to play, and that it supports the codec/containers that you encode to.
