I bought a new Vizio D-series 70" TV a few weeks ago and I'm having trouble getting CEC features to work with my Apple TV 4. Are certain HDMI cables not compatible with CEC? I know that most likely the problem is firmware problems on Apple TV and/or the TV itself, but I'm just trying to rule out factors that I can control.

Both the Apple TV and TV are running the latest firmware's already.

CEC is also kind of hit or miss. I have all brand new high speed 2.0a cables that are ARC and CEC capable, yet my new JS8500 and Roku4 don't jive with CEC.

It works with the Roku if I go through my receiver. So, must be the TV. CEC also works between the TV and receiver.

Cec has been amzzing for me. On my oled tv and receiver setup...also i came to the conclusion HDMI cables are a complete rip-off i tried a really old paper thin one and it works fine at 4k 60p where my monster cable i know its all bb had and i neded a dam cable already broke after a month lol
