HDD'S going wild before shutdown\restart.

since i migrated to SSD, every time i restart my pc, i get this annoying problem:



i choose restart, before the system restart, while the screen say -RESTARTING- this is what happens:

1 all HDD turned off.

2 then all HDD turned on.

3 then all HDD turned off.

4 only then the OS finishing the restart process, and restart is in a effect.

to be clearer: all HDD = 7200 WD, not the SSD, where win 7 is installed.


guys what do you think can cause this behavior?

Drive kill command issued, then OS realizes that the there is still data in cache to be flushed, OS spools them again.

dear benji, you have no idea how happy i am, to stumble upon someone that understand the cause of it.

so, how can i make it stop?
 
Can you you give me (and others) an update on where you are at with this issue?
 
I've seen this behavior on both Windows and OSX. If the drives are asleep, they spun up before the system can shutdown. In OSX it's a little more strenuous because. It staggers the drives in startup so with a file server it can take a little while.
