HDD shows up as removable hardware.

[runLoganrun]

My WD1600SD HDD shows up as removable hardware on the task bar. I'm running windows XP x64. Why is it doing that?

[InorganicMatter]

Motherboard? IDE or SATA?

[DeathFromBelow]

IIRC, SATA drives always show up as removable. Nothing to worry about.

[Sieravor]

Indeed. One of the big selling points for SATA, IMO, is the hot-swappable ability. Just be carefull not to accidentally disengage the HDD whiel you're using it.

[runLoganrun]

Yeah, it's SATA.
Thanks.
