HDD partitioning question

I built a new system and formatted my Western Digital 250GB SATA hard drive using Partition Magic software. I partitioned it so the C drive is approximately 50GB and the remaining space on what i thought would be drive D. The new partition is logical and not primary as there won't be any other OS other than the XP Home edition that I'm using now.

Anyway, I also have an Asus SATA DVD recorder and a NEC IDE DVD recorder. After the new partitioning, I now have ...

C drive is on the WD
D drive is the NEC
E drive is the Asus DVD
F drive is one partition of a Seagate external HDD I forgot to mention
G drive is the other Seagate partition
and
H drive is the rest of the WD hard drive

Before I play around with Partition Magic some more, can anyone please tell me why the rest of the WD is showing up after the Seagate? I still need to check to see if those partitions are logical or not.

Also, is there any better software out there other than Partition Magic?

Thanks

dood you can make the letters whatever you want..

right click in device manager on the seagate, disable it..

then they will disappear from "my computer".

then go to disk management in Windows managment and right click on "H" to change drive letter.

then when its the letter you want, re-enable the other ones back and they will take whatever letters are next in order.

same for cdrom letters, which I did a couple days ago.
