hdd off?

i have a ssd and one hdd. the os is in the ssd, and when i access my hdd i get a 5 second "delay" like the hdd is off and takes about 5 seconds to "wake up." is there a way to keep the hdd always awake?

Sure, go to the power options control panel and change the plan settings for whatever your active power plan is. On the 'Edit Plan Settings' screen click the link for ''Change Advanced Power Settings' and in the window that comes up scroll down to 'Hard Disk' and click the + next to it to expand the settings. Change the setting for 'Turn off hard disk after' to 'Never', then click apply. Bam. You're done.
