Named your drives something cool? Post it here. :D

The double matching names are because of RAID arrays.

Cute nomenclature. I've got a "monolith" on my network as well: girlfriend's tiny black Lian Li A05B, which reminds me of the black monolith from 2001.

I normally go with "boot" and "media" because my windows boxes never have more than 2 local volumes, so anything more than that would just exhaust my creativity.

However, my storage pools and network switches are different. I have: "BFAID" (big fu.. array of disks) for my RAID, "tank" for my zpool (because Sun's documentation always uses that), "BigSwitch" for my Cisco SLM2024, and "overseer" for my SG200-50G.

No I give them names to match their function.

I call my main system drive "Fasty", my old system drive (Raptor) "Fasty Jr.", and my storage drive in my main system "Biggie". a la "Bitey" from the Simpsons... :p

My entire home network is Simpsons themed actually.
