recently... my com's fan speed is very unconstant.... and the com slow down....
the cpu temp is 68degree for 1.4ghz amd processor... the hdd light is always on... no sound is coming from the hdd... so what is my com problem... any ideas.... thank

Have you checked for viruses? Spyware? It sounds like you have a lot of processes running, using up a lot of resources and explaining why the HDD light is on. Try that and see if that improves it. Use any virus remover and Spybot S&D to check for spybots.

If that doesn't work, stop ant programs you don't need, such as folding, Kazaa etc to see if they are causing the problem.

is this a new computer you just put togeather? if so then you may have got the HDD Activity and the Power LED mixed up on the mobo connection.

is that 68C or F?

does the computer work? when you say there is no sound comming from the HDD are you saying you think its broke ?

if everything is working then all you need to worry about is the high temp if that is infact Celcius

i have been using the com for 1yr plus....
so it;s not new...
the system idle is always near 100%, so not many processes are running

i ran it in safe mode... the led is still on....
cpu temp is 68degree celsius

..so the light is on eventhough the HDD isn't being accessed? what kind of hard drive you got? what about performance? did you notice any decrease?

solved the problem
it;s a unknown virus....
i reinstall to winxp sp2
now is working fine...
thank to all... :D

no more....
i remove the cover.... although it will collect dust....
and install cpuidle extreme...
the temp is 45 degree celsius
but my chipset fan is spoilt....
i am going to change it....
