HDD Error?

Hey guys,
On black friday, I went to CompUSA and bought myself 3 Maxtor HDD's (60GB), I came home, and tried to install windows without luck. Here's a summary of what happens. I pop in the WinXP CD and boot up, I get into setup and it copies the files it needs to install windows. Then, it reboots, which is when it's supposed to start up again with the setup. However, I get to the part after it reboots, my computer says "Boot from CD : Press any key to boot from CD". If I press something, the installation starts all over again, however, if I don't it says "Error loading operating system".
Here's the problem that I'm not understanding. I can use my CarPC (633MHz Celeron, 256Ram) to install windows, but... I can't on my desktop (AMD 2600+, 1GB RAM, DFI Ultra Infinity NF2). Do you have any idea what it can be? I'm thinking it's my motherboard, since I can install on different PC's, just not my main PC.

Thanks ahead of time

(I also have this in the motherboard section, but it hasn't even been winced at sicne I posted it a few days ago.)

Several possibilities.

Check your boot order in the BIOS, does it contain HDD-0 as a boot device?
What IDE controller is it on? And does that controller need drivers?

I have HDD-0 as the second boot device
As for the IDE Controller, I'm using all the onboard stuff. No need to use a controller with just one HDD. However, I do plan on getting one if I decide to use all 3 in the same system.

None of the 3 work in your computer? Maybe a funny IDE cable.

What kind of motherboard is it?

FYI Marilyn Manson concert ROCKED! :)

lol, I bet it did.

I tried 3 different cables, including the one that was in the CarPC.
I only tried using 2 of the 3 HDD's, the other is still sealed in it's box.
The motherboard is a DFI Ultra Infinity NF2. the board with the Preloaded CMOS.

Anyway, help is appreciated, I've waited so so so long. Black Friday was like what? 2 weeks ago?

Yes, but often a MB has IDE-1 IDE-2 IDE-3 IDE-4 etc. with only the first two being on the southbridge, and the rest being on a promise or highpoint controller. (usually RAID capable) If it is on one of those you have to set the boot order to include the RAID controller (different names in BIOS from different MFGs)
