What are my options for HDD cooling on air? Right now all i have in my case is 2 80MM fans (one in the rear and one in front, just in front of the HDDs) I leave the side of my case open becuz im in and out of it so often lately.

My HDDs seem to be really hot, It seems if im working all of the sudden the comp will start to freeze up so i feel the cage on the HDDs and its pretty hot so i put a desk fan blowing into thte case on the HDDs (see pic below) and after that all is good and they stay nice and cool but i want a better solution then that,

I've got a couple of the Coolermaster Cooldrives myself, they're not too bad, but only one fan in the front of mine. They're essentially giant aluminium heatsinks that your HDD top butts up against, and the fan at the front (with a removable filter btw) blows cool air around them. The other bonus is it quiets down the HDD noise since it's encased in relatively thick metal :)

This may be the most low tech solution, bit it got my HD temp down from 50C to about 35C.

All I did was place one 80mm fan underneath my HD so that air would blow on the HD from underneath. This seems to help dissipate the heat very fast, and helps keep my overall case temp down about 5-10C. I didn't even mount it or screw it into place. Very effective.
