Do 2.5" HDDs experience demagnetization and file corruption if placed within a few centimeters of a 29" CRT TV? These TVs have speakers and coils that produce magnetism.

There is no standard answer to the question. Which 29" CRT, how old, yoke design, case design and the distance of the tube from the case, etc. Is the CRT in tolerance? Keep in mind that the magnets in a 2.5" HD are generally 2cm-3cm away (or closer) from the platter edge. While the power of EM/RF is generally the square of the distance from the emitter/transmitter, for magnetism is generally is the cube (inverse cube law, dipole magnets, etc).Is there any calculation for the magnetic force generated by 29" CRT TVs and the calculation supported by 2.5" HDDs?
The magnet inside 2.5" HDDs is designed to prevent damage to the platters, and are the magnets in 29" CRT TVs and coils different?
he doesnt want to, so lets let him find out.Keep....them....away....from...the....old......tvs........
I mean, might as well. He really isn't listening to anyone anyways.he doesnt want to, so lets let him find out.
Are you going to stick the drive inside the crt housing next to the magnet? If not, you aren't going to have a problem. If the 29" CRT TV is turned off, will it also cause magnetic problems on the 2.5" HDD within a few cm?
He's hiding naughty drive inside the tv in case of a fbi raidAre you going to stick the drive inside the crt housing next to the magnet? If not, you aren't going to have a problem.
