HDD and bass

Can bass damage a HDD? I dont use "computer speakers" I use bigass speakers like you'd connect to your TV. The particle board is fairly forgiving, but will the bass harm my HDD? Can I buy dampener stuff?

Also, for some reason one of the speaker boxes wont make sound. The right channel will cut out randomly and come back if the volume is too low. I have to turn it up high to get both working. Anyone know why?

Speakers: Generic Box, very old but taken care of
Reciever: Kenwood KR-A4040
 
Bass can damage your hard drive

I would just not let the sub physically touch or get too close; it should be fine
 
if its just that speaker that acts like that, you could have a blown speaker.

or your amplifier's volume control needs the brushes cleaned off.
 
the speakerbox is 3 inches above the computer case, not touching but on compressed board shelf on my desk. The computer case is very large, one of the Antec Old-Alienware style cases.
 
I doubt it'll be a problem. As long as the computer case insn't rattling from the vibration. Haha, then maybe you should consider relocating the computer case (perhaps on the floor, just dust it and don't kick it).
