first let me tell you the important parts ithink u should know i have. my hdd is a seagate 7200.9 160gb sata hdd, and my mobo is a abit fatal1ty fi90-hd (the micro atx one). the case i have is an ultra microfly. after my comp is on for a couple hours the hdd activity light stays stuck on. i want to know how to fix this and how to prevent this if possible, thanks. the connection between the light and the mobo is tight as can be btw.

hmm, that is very unusual, very odd, are u sure it´s not reading while it remains turned on ?

im on xp pro. ok now i figured out that when it does that and if i turn off my computer or restart my comp, it wont even post. what i used to do was dissconnect everything and move ram around until it would post. this time however it doesnt even post no matter what i do. since im having so many problems with this mobo and others are too, im thinking im just gonna return it and get an asus 680i series motherboard.

Is reformatting a possibility? It's certainly a cheaper than buying a new motherboard; plus, the 680i chipset is likely to be even more finicky so it might not be the best alternative to your current board.
