Will 1920x1080 progressive HDCP scale down to fit onto a 20in lcd at 1680x1050, or will it send less information at 1366x768 progressive and the LCD has to scale up to fit 1680x1050 resulting in a poorer quality image?

rofl, your username makes you sound like you spend too much time on the WW website :D

HDCP only sends the correct sized stream if it detects a proper content path. Otherwise it sends degraded quality. It has nothing to do with video scaling in any other context.

So if you have a 1680x1050 HDCP compliant LCD, you'll get 1920x1080 output that your video card / video player will probably scale down to 1680x1050

thanks for clearing that up.

i wanted to change my name, but i would lose all my old postings, so i'm stuck with it.
