Been doing google/yahoo searches on this topic, and think I have some grasp of it, but want to check to make sure. As I understand it, if I wanted a home PC to access Internet-TV freesites (let's say Hulu) that are using HDCP, I would have to have graphics card that is HDCP-compliant. Now would the motherboard also have to be HDCP-compliant? Not clear on that point! Also, where does DRM/COPP come into it? I'm planning on a home PC with dual-HDD for dual-boot OS (XP PRO SP 2+Linux). I'm sure XP Pro has some sort of COPP or DRM, but not certain if Internet-TV sites are using it. Also not sure how Linux OS (I'm leaning towards LinuxMint7 or PCLinuxOS 2010) is even useable for HDCP, DRM, COPP, etc. Can anyone advise?

I'm not sure there is any internet content that uses hdcp. Hdcp is between the graphics card and tv/monitor. All it is for is to make sure that connection between the two is secure so one can not take make a copy of the signal or what have you. The only thing that I have seen use it would be blu-ray on pc's and I think the ceton/ati digital tv tuners use it also, but I am not sure, I don't know if there is something more?

There are lots of non pc devices that use it, cable boxes, sat boxes. It's there because they don't want you recording the output.
