Has anyone here tried using the Atlona AT-HD4-V110SR to extend one of their displays? Essentially I'm trying to centralize all of my computers inside my server rack 60-100ft away and wish to utilize something like this so it feels like its still in my one room minus the noise/heat. I know this product and others like it should work but my problem is my displays are 2560x1600. They list it as supporting up to 4k x 2K resolution but don't break it down as supporting 2560x1600 in their documentation.

If you guys know it wont work with 2560x1600 I have one other option but it will double/tripple the cost.

edit: product for those curious - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16882979016&Tpk=Atlona%20AT-HD4-V110SR

Is there something in specific that you need that particular unit for as I am using this:

http://www.gefen.com/kvm/dproduct.jsp?prod_id=4999

for the same purpose and it works great at about half the price.

My setup is as follows: Computer in rack > 45' Dual link DVI cable > Gefen extender > 12' dual link DVI cable > 30" Monitor.

I'm only going 57' total but it's been working perfectly for about 3.5 years now.

That unit you are looking at is obviously more future proof though if you think you will be upgrading to a 4K display in the next couple years....

I'm was tyring to go with the one above so I could use standard CAT5/6 and could go pretty much as far as I wanted cable wise(not to mention cable thickness). With the one I linked above it could allow me to save some cash if it can support a 2560x1600. Otherwise im stuck using this http://www.gefen.com/kvm/ext-2dvi-cat6dl.jsp?prod_id=10326. This one will cost $2k instead of $1k and since its DVI, its less future proof imo. I think I'll end up purchsing atleast 1 of the units and test it out. If it doesn't support the resoltuons I want, atleast I'll be able to use it to extend my laptop to my TV as a HTPC.
