HD6870 or GTX560?

[zero940]

My buddy wants a new graphics card for RIFT and his budget is $250 with power supply included, what card would be a better buy, a GTX560 or a 6870? And would this 520w Antec Neo be a safe bet to power the card? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371030 Any help is appreciated.

What is his/her build like? Just don't want the CPU to bottleneck your GPU thats all.

6870's are an incredible deal right now, IMO.

You can snag an XFX 6870 right now @ Newegg with a $15 off coupon, $20 rebate and free steam version of Deus Ex: HE that you can sell for another $30-40.

So basically you get a 6870 with a double lifetime warranty for $115ish...seems like a no brainer to me.

I am not a fan of these coolers on these particular cards. If it's like the 6850's they vent hot air right out the side....
