HD5850 and WoW

Had a quick question. I took advantage of the deal Newegg was having on the HD5850 and was wondering if it would have a problem playing WoW on Ultra with 1900x1200 on a 24" screen? It's been so long since I have built a computer I don't really know what's good and whats not. How does this card compare to the GTX460?

I should also add that this will be going into a new computer that I am building, so far this is the only thing I have for it. I'm trying to build a good gaming computer to play WoW that won't break the bank. So I will be piecing it together as I found really good deals. If you have any other suggestions please don't hesitate to tell me.

The 5850 should be plenty for WoW. WoW is a more cpu intensive game so you shouldn't have to worry. The 5850 i believe is close or beats the GTX 460 1 mb.
 
The GTX 460 is a better performer when you are using DX11 but for WoW both of those cards are plenty. I would just go with whatever the cheaper buy is.

Should be totally fine with WoW. The only setting I would turn down is shadows from Ultra to one stop below. It looks almost exactly the same but you gain 20+ fps in most places.

Yes it will have problems.
But it depends what you're expecting. 60fps constant? No.
Ultra shadows are going to send you into the 40's quite frequently.

Lost Planet 2 .. is an Nvidia funded game so it should do better ... for the money the HD6850 is the better card vs both but if the HD5850 is a ref card then it can be overclocked very close to the HD5870 as it's the same core other then SP count..

The 460GTX has issues with the 775 socket boards as they have shutter issues in games and is not fixable so far by the drivers.. I own both setups and the HD5850 offers Eyefinity and can play games in the 5760x1080 range where the 460GTX cannot on a single card setup.
