HD5750 + Budget LGA775

Thanks to the Sandy Bridge mobo issues putting my upgrade plans in flux, and falling prices for HD5750-based cards, I have the XFX HD5750 back on the radar again.

What I'm curious about is how well it performs sans CPU help (remember, Mighty Mouse is rather limited there), as a Celeron DC is usually not much help there.

Running an XFX 5750 on Pentium Dual Core @2.8, i could play most games without much issues. I only ran this combo for a week before i finished upgrading my rig. CODM2 ran well on high and AA at 1650. BFBC had to be turned down to med settings, ( runs 40 fps average on high with no AA on new rig, with 5750). I definitely got better frame rates across the board from my GTS 250.

My 5750 did pretty good by me. Ran most of my games at decent settings. I was able to get mine running stable at 850/1200.

Strekship, you got the opposite of mine, i get 800/1300.

HD5750 may well be bottlenecked by the CPU, but it depends what you play. If you don't play high-end games it's not a problem.
