sennheiser versus grado. With that hot deal for the 570s posted here (amazon.com), my friend has heard both and prefers the 80s, but I'm also a HUGE fan of comfort, and wanted to hear other people's opinions.

I thought the sr-80s were more commonly compared to the 497s, not the 5xx series?

i had the HD570's and they sounded alright

but compared to my HD555 they sounded awful

i havent heard the Grado's but i would recommend not getting the 570's

I use the 570's and I think they're pretty good, at least for my musical tastes. my only qualm is the same with all headphones that are open-air, that when you turn them up, even though you could hear people talk to you, they can also hear your stuff blasting, but other than that, I would still recommend them to people. looking at the grados they look like that could get uncomfortable after a while. I've been able to where the 570's for many hours in a row without discomfort, again this is my experience.
