The Sapphire card is now a "deactivated item" at Newegg, not just out of stock. Wonder what's up with that.
Interesting...and all of the other sites posted at the beginning of the thread are either not listing the Sapphire card anymore or, show "out of stock". It will be interesting to see what 'unfolds'. With the alleged new entries of 3850 AGP by HIS with different cooling solutions, could be Sapphire stopped production of the "deactivated" model in favor of a "new and improved" design. Could be that the AMD/ATI CCC team is refusing to "officially" support the 3850 AGP with its partners and therefore Sapphire has decided to "cut bait". The Sapphire web site has issued different "hotfixes" in an effort to placate end users, but no instructions exactly how or in what order to apply them. For me personally, I just "forced" XP to load the regular 8.3 drivers and CCC and everything appears to be working well.
I'm no Sherlock, but defintely the "game is afoot" as we try to unravel what is happening behind the scenes.
