HD3650 compared to 8600gt

The HD3650 should be a little slower or close to the 8600GT. However, whichever one is cheaper. Personally, I like ATIs image quality when it comes to video playback. They have a slight edge over Nvidia cards. I guess in my experience since ATI Rage and older Geforce cards, the ATI cards was more consistent in video playback quality than Nvidia cards. But, in raw FPS gaming, the Nvidia cards under most situations is faster.
 
8600 distributors normally have better service though..
If you get it from xfx, evga, or bfg, you're pretty much guaranteed a back-up card for life.
